Description

Voicey, a startup based in the Netherlands, embarked on a mission to simplify collaboration between brands and influencers. When our collaboration began, Voicey already had a web app for brands and a partially developed mobile app for influencers. The focus of our partnership was to take over the mobile app development, rectify existing bugs, and enhance the application to secure significant funding. The initial plan was to create an entirely new Voicey app from the ground up with custom designs, and as the company gained financial support, our collaboration continued to evolve.

Challenge

The development journey presented several challenges, with a primary focus on achieving pixel-perfect design and seamlessly animated content. The goal was to ensure the app's flawless appearance on various devices, including the least powerful ones like the iPhone 5. Additionally, we faced the task of creating smooth animations, including a custom and animated price selector for influencers to set reward expectations.

Deep integration with Instagram posed another challenge, requiring us to verify whether influencers fulfilled their deals and adhered to scheduled content posting. Collaboration with the client's backend developer and effective project management was essential to overcome hurdles such as Instagram API limitations and stability issues. Developing real-time chat functionality with notification features added to the complexity of the project.

Solutions

 

To meet Voicey's needs, we focused on developing a mobile app that streamlined deal negotiations between influencers and brands. The app allowed influencers to receive and respond to brand proposals promptly, either accepting deals as presented or making counteroffers. Real-time email and mobile notifications were crucial features to ensure immediate influencer responses to time-limited offers.

The app facilitated easy sign-up through Facebook or Instagram accounts, with Instagram connection being a prerequisite for deal processing. Detailed influencer profiles, covering personal and professional aspects, were a key component. The app also automated the verification of published content, assigned rewards, and provided comprehensive statistics on campaign engagement and payment history.

Impact

Our collaborative efforts resulted in significant progress for Voicey. Initially, we enhanced and fixed the first version of the app, leading to a substantial funding injection of $250K (as per Crunchbase). The subsequent redevelopment process aimed at creating a seamless user experience across devices, addressing challenges related to pixel-perfect development and animated content.

Project management was a joint effort, with weekly sprints and tasks established by the client. We served as technical advisors, guiding Voicey in aligning the business vision with the project's technical aspects. The outcome was a comprehensive mobile app that empowered influencers and brands, revolutionising the way they connect and collaborate within the dynamic landscape of influencer marketing.
